Beginning as sports cartoonist in Florida, in 1935 Berryman joined the Washington Evening Star, where he & his father,
Clifford Berryman, became the foremost father-son team in cartoon history.
James Berryman won a 1950 Pulitzer Prize for his McCarthy era drawing of a hearing room filled with microphones and cameras,titled “All Set for a Super-Secret Session.”
